To the press

Rapyuta Robotics Co. Ltd., (Koto-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Gajan Mohanarajah; hereinafter “Rapyuta Robotics”), a provider of the Cloud robotics platform “rapyuta.io”, has been awarded grant funding from the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) as part of the “Project to accelerate the development of collaborative data sharing and AI systems for the promotion of Connected Industries”. Rapyuta Robotics developing an open cloud platform for warehouse management that can efficiently manage the required number of robots at the required time in conjunction with the warehouse management system’s receiving and shipping information.

By implementing the platform, logistics companies will be able to utilize hardware and software from multiple robot manufacturers making warehouse operations highly efficient. In addition, we aim to establish a subscription system in which hardware and software developers register their available products in a logistics companies pay a usage fee for using the registered products.

In current circumstances, cooperation between multiple types of robots such as automated vehicles (AMR), robot arms, and automated forklifts is highly complex and requires huge development costs. However, by utilizing our expertise in robotics for logistics and “rapyuta.io”, we will be able to provide robotics solutions that can be used on-site not only for large corporations small and medium-sized enterprises.
