Yuji Hirokawa, former President of Red Hat K.K, joins the board of Rapyuta Robotics

Rapyuta Robotics Co., Ltd. (Chuo, Tokyo, CEO: Gajamohan Mohanarajah) hereby announces the appointment of Yuji Hirokawa, the former President and Representative Director of Red Hat K.K, as an outside director.

Guided by the vision of making robots attainable and useful, Rapyuta Robotics developed the first enterprise-class cloud robotics platform, rapyuta.io. The platform takes an inclusive approach and focuses on removing all the complexities and inefficiencies in building and managing robotic solutions thus fostering an open robotics ecosystem. It is already being used by various leading companies such as Nihon Unisys, Ltd. in Japan and iFollow SAS in France. The company is currently in the process of expanding the global footprint and scale of its cloud robotics platform rapyuta.io.

Gajamohan Mohanarajah, CEO and Co-founder of Rapyuta Robotics, had the following to say about the appointment of Yuji Hirokawa:

Profile of Mr. Yuji Hirokawa

1981 Joined Hitachi Ltd. He was involved in establishing Hitachi data systems corporation (Santa Clara, US), a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. From 1992 to 1998, he was assigned as Global Sales VP at Hitachi data systems. He then took over as Executive Director of International Sales Group for Hitachi Ltd.
2003 Jul Joined Sun Microsystems as Corporate Director & Executive Officer of Sales in Japan.
2006 Aug Joined BEA Systems Japan as Country Manager (Middleware/SOA Sales)
2008 Feb Joined Red Hat K.K. (Japan) as a President
2015 Jun Assigned as the Chairman of Red Hat K.K.
2016 Nov Joined Midokura Japan as President & Representative Director for Japan and APAC
2017 Mar Joined Hortonworks, Japan as regional Vice President & Managing Director of Japan
2019 Mar Retired from Hortonworks, Japan.
