Good Design Award - Gold Award 2024

Rapyuta Robotics Inc. (Koto-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Gajan Mohanarajah; hereinafter “Rapyuta Robotics”), a leading provider of robotics solutions for logistics, is proud to announce that its flexible automated warehouse, “Rapyuta ASRS,” has won the 2024 Good Design Best 100, sponsored by the Japan Design Promotion Organization, and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award (Good Design Gold Award), which is awarded to 20 designs recognized as particularly outstanding. This marks the second consecutive year that Rapyuta Robotics has received a Good Design Award, following the success of “Rapyuta PA-AMR” in 2023. Additionally, “Rapyuta ASRS” has been named among the Good Design Best 100 for 2024.

About Rapyuta ASRS

The Rapyuta ASRS is an innovative automated warehouse solution that uniquely combines flexibility and high productivity. Its anchorless design allows it to be installed in any configuration, like building blocks, without the need for screws, making it adaptable to any warehouse or factory layout. This system not only reduces walking distances and enhances efficiency with its unique concentrated work and picking station, equipped with multiple error prevention functions, but also standardizes operations to ensure consistent quality and accuracy, regardless of the operator.

Designed to address medium- to long-term risks and adapt to various situations and changes, the Rapyuta ASRS is a groundbreaking solution that significantly contributes to solving logistics challenges. Our collaborating partner, Mitsui Chemicals, is responsible for manufacturing the main structural components of the flexible automated warehouse “Rapyuta ASRS.”

Comments from the judges on the Good Design Award

“There are many other proposals for automating logistics warehouses, but we were impressed by the system design, which is easy to build, can be laid out flexibly, can be easily expanded or reduced, and even the vertical elevator can be installed anywhere, allowing for quick and flexible response to demand. In addition, the design is unified, with the pillars in red and the shelves and robots in black and white, successfully visually appealing to the viewer as an innovative system.”
