Working at Rapyuta
Watanabe Mikaru – Field Sales
Joined in August 2022. Although new to both the robotics industry and corporate sales, she quickly became valued for her enthusiastic and proactive approach to challenges, as well as her positive and diligent personality. Over the past two years, she has gained practical experience in sales. Currently, she is a member of the field sales team, striving daily as part of a small but elite group.
Encountering Rapyuta Robotics by Chance and Taking on Corporate Sales in a New World
I joined Rapyuta Robotics in August 2022.
For about the first year and a half, my role involved developing partner companies to sell Rapyuta Robotics’ robots, and working closely with them to devise sales approaches. In the subsequent six months, I became part of the account sales team, directly interacting with the logistics and supply chain departments of client companies. My work ranged from discussing broader strategies, like how the company should approach automation, to more specific aspects, such as whether Rapyuta Robotics’ solutions fit the specific site. This allowed me to engage in sales activities from a more direct and comprehensive perspective.
Before joining Rapyuta, I had no experience in corporate sales; I had been involved in sales roles where I directly interacted with end-users, selling products closely tied to daily life. Since the robotics industry was entirely new to me, each day was filled with uncertainty and constant learning, making the experience highly stimulating.
Over these two years, I have experienced and learned an incredible amount, yet I still feel there are more challenges to take on. I genuinely want to continue my work in the fascinating and profound world of robotics with even greater dedication.
Setting Goals for Projects Inherited from Account Sales – Moving into Field Sales
Currently, I work as a Field Sales representative.
My role involves taking over projects acquired by Account Sales and driving them towards completion. Account Sales focuses on establishing relationships with potential client companies, arranging meetings, and identifying sites where we could assist.
Field Sales, on the other hand, involves creating proposals, estimating the number of robots needed, and guiding the implementation process. In simple terms, Account Sales generates leads, and Field Sales closes the deals.
My team consists of four members, each handling 10 to 15 cases. It’s challenging due to the broad scope, but our young team has a flat hierarchy, making it easy to consult with each other, which allows us to focus on our work with peace of mind.
Experiencing the Joy of Overcoming Challenges and Gaining Understanding – The Essence of Working at Rapyuta Robotics
In Field Sales, I feel that my experience from the account sales team is highly valuable. Understanding what customers want and why they think a certain way allows me to engage more smoothly in my current work.
However, there is still much to learn daily. For example, even though I understand the general concept of robots (Rapyuta PA-AMR), it’s challenging to answer succinctly when asked about specific benefits or drawbacks in the field. It’s essential to have a deep understanding of both the product and the challenges in each environment and to be able to communicate clearly.
I believe that one of the most important aspects of Field Sales is understanding the customer’s challenges and providing appropriate solutions. It’s about honing communication and interpersonal skills. Although there are still many things I don’t know and sometimes it can be frustrating, the satisfaction of learning something new and gaining understanding keeps me motivated. The rapid pace at which this cycle occurs at Rapyuta Robotics is one of the unique aspects of working here.
Focusing on the Present – Confronting Challenges Head-On without Focusing on the Future
Currently, I’m focused on doing my best in the work before me, without any specific career plans or desired positions. I believe that as I work diligently, options will naturally arise, and what I want to do next will become clear.
One thing I can say is that I want to ensure that what I’m doing now at Rapyuta Robotics is correct in my own mind. I want to achieve ideal results. I aspire to be the kind of person who the company can rely on to deliver the expected outcomes. I’m not seeking immediate results but am committed to producing grounded and substantial achievements over time. I want to approach each challenge sincerely and resolve it.
As a result, I hope to share my knowledge as a success story or guide new team members in the future. In this sense, I feel that Field Sales suits me well. On the other hand, when I feel I’ve learned everything there is, I might consider changing environments or stepping up.
Work Should Be Enjoyable – Creating Unforgettable Experiences at Rapyuta Robotics
I believe Rapyuta Robotics is particularly suitable for those who are passionate about their work.
My criteria for choosing a job are based on how many things I can’t do now. Challenging myself with things I can’t do is refreshing and exciting. Through challenges, I gain new experiences and insights, which lead to learning. That’s the standard for whether work is enjoyable.
Since work occupies a large part of life, I want to make it fulfilling and believe it contributes to creating memorable experiences in life. While there are difficult aspects and times when I want to take the easy way out, work also offers experiences that money can’t buy.
These experiences, which lead to personal growth and skills acquisition, are irreplaceable and add value to life. That’s why I work at Rapyuta Robotics, where I can achieve that and enjoy it. I think people who cherish excitement about new things will find Rapyuta Robotics a good fit. With the mindset that “shortcomings are opportunities,” I feel that you can overcome any challenge.
At Rapyuta Robotics, we are looking for new team members to join us!
